YAY-POP (Turkish)

With the invitation of Istanbul Design Biennial, we developed a project on publishing: YAY-POP, a publication on publishing. The magazine, which is designed as a single issue, is produced by Onagöre with many contributors. The limits, economy, loyalty and dependence of publishing were the topics of talks with different authorities by starting with immediate environment and then expanding, with the broader questions of what it means to be a publisher. YAY-POP thus tries to document Onagöre’s learning process about publishing, namely in music, games and typeface publishing along with printed media. Onagöre is a design agency and publishing house founded by Okay Karadayılar and Ali Taptık, and is also one of the publishers in the Bandrolsüz collective.
