Wireframe Dub

Koray Kantarcıoğlu's digital drawing practice, which began in the early 2000s with Windows Paint, has developed its own language over the years. His early works include the ongoing Bitmap Landscapes series, inspired by geological processes, astrophotography, and natural formations. In the 2010s, parallel to this series, the artist turned to black and white linear forms, drawing inspiration from wireframe aesthetics; he worked on organic structures that appear interwoven, fragmented, and seemingly eroded over time.

Wireframe Dub presents a selection of Kantarcıoğlu's works, revisiting these forms after nearly a decade and updated with red layers added as of 2020. These interventions function like visual counterparts to the echo and delay effects borrowed from dub music. All drawings were printed at their original size to preserve their original on-screen aesthetic; some were cropped to fit the pages but not resized.

Kantarcıoğlu, who is actively involved not only in visual production but also in music, brings both of his practices together in the same framework for the first time in this book.
