A very special publication featured in *Photobook: A History Vol. III*, edited by Martin Parr and Garry Badger. The sixth book in the Akın Nalça Kitapları series, it's a two-cover book designed by Bülent Erkmen, comprising two distinct works. The publication combines Uğur Tanyeli's essay, "An Introduction to the Visual History of Turkey," with Ali Taptık's "Picturing Istanbul," a collection of figureless color photographs of various Istanbul neighborhoods. In his work, Uğur Tanyeli examines the visual history of Turkey from an architectural perspective, primarily focusing on the problem of "underproduction" from the Ottoman era to the present day. The photographs in Ali Taptık's "Picturing Istanbul" section are a re-imagining of material gathered for his *Accident and Fate*, *Familiar Strangers*, and *Nothing to be Surprised About* series.
