Paint Finishing Institute

“The Institute of Paint Finishing” consists of paintings created side-by-side by Romina Meriç and Nidem Özçelik between December 2016 and September 2018, using the same materials and dimensions. Based on friendship dynamics and coincidental narratives, this visual story also records a healing process where the artists transform challenging emotions such as shame, hatred, anger, and disappointment. With layers of paint applied and scraped away, the transformative nature of friendship and creativity unfolds before us as a colorful journey.
